Twenty-five students in Monterey and neighboring Counties have received scholarship awards totaling $52,000. UnitedAg awarded the scholarships after reviewing 59 submitted applications. Applicants submitted in addition to detailed information, an essay focused on immigration reform and how they believe it will impact the agricultural industry in California in the future.
UnitedAg, a member-owned agricultural trade association representing more than 650 organizations in California and Arizona, announced today that it has awarded a record $117,000 in college scholarships to 58 children and one spouse from its member-affiliated agricultural families statewide. Provided through UnitedAg’s Agribusiness Education Foundation (AEF), the 2017 awards raise the organization’s historical scholarship total to over $1.3 million since AEF was founded in 2000. To date, 719 agricultural family members have received UnitedAg’s assistance in achieving their educational goals and aspirations. Previous UnitedAg scholarship winners have earned degrees and taken their place in management, government, market development and foreign trade, with many working in agribusiness.

UABT provides health benefits to UnitedAg’s member organizations, which together represent more than 35,000 insured members.
UnitedAg, a member-owned agricultural trade association representing more than 650 organizations in California and Arizona, announced it will hold its 37th Annual Meeting & Conference March 14-17 at the Westin Verasa in Napa, Calif. Themed “Advancing Together,” this year’s conference will feature leading experts addressing key issues facing the state’s agricultural businesses and community, including healthcare, water, labor, land rights, food safety and more. Keynote speakers will include Karen Ross, Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture, and Hugh Hewitt, lawyer, author and broadcast journalist. More than 200 representatives from UnitedAg member organizations and partners, and other agricultural community leaders, are expected to attend.
