2026 Legislative Recap
As 2026 comes to a close, UnitedAg continues to advocate for policies that protect and support California’s agricultural community. Throughout the year, our Advocacy Committee closely monitored legislation affecting healthcare, labor, wages, water, pesticides, and other critical industry issues. From changes to California’s Cap-and-Invest program and agricultural funding to new regulations impacting packaging, farm labor, and food labeling, this legislative session brought both challenges and opportunities for agribusiness.
Despite several concerning bills becoming law, UnitedAg and its advocacy partners helped oppose legislation that could have placed additional burdens on agriculture while supporting initiatives that strengthen the industry, including programs promoting California-grown foods in schools. As we look ahead to 2027, we remain committed to keeping our members informed and ensuring agriculture has a voice in the legislative process.
