Kirti Mutatkar
President & CEO, UnitedAg
Kirti Mutatkar is a forward-thinking executive whose leadership is rooted in a commitment to making high-quality, innovative, and affordable health care accessible to the agricultural community. As President and CEO of UnitedAg, she leads a quarter-billion-dollar association health plan serving agricultural employers, employees, and families across California and Arizona.
Under Kirti’s leadership, UnitedAg has continued to evolve beyond the traditional health plan model, developing innovative approaches to health care that reflect the unique needs of agriculture. Her philosophy is centered on listening first engaging directly with members, visiting agricultural operations, hosting educational forums, and creating opportunities for open dialogue. This member-driven approach has helped UnitedAg develop solutions that improve access to care while addressing affordability, quality, and the realities facing agricultural employers and their workforce.
Kirti joined UnitedAg in 2001 and served as Chief Financial Officer for 10 years before being appointed President and CEO in 2014. During her tenure as CFO, she directed organizational operations, played an instrumental role in a comprehensive company reorganization, launched UnitedAg’s Third Party Administration division, and developed a strategic business plan to prepare the organization for the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
As CEO, Kirti has guided UnitedAg through a period of significant growth and transformation while remaining focused on the organization’s member-owned roots. Her leadership has helped strengthen UnitedAg’s position as a trusted health care and business partner to agriculture and expand its commitment to delivering innovative health benefit solutions and greater access to care.
Kirti holds master’s degrees in both finance and microbiology and completed the UCLA Anderson School of Management Executive Program. Her leadership extends beyond UnitedAg through her involvement with organizations serving both health care and agriculture. She has held a leadership role with the Health Care Administrators Association (HCAA), is a past Board Member of the Agricultural Council of California, and serves as a Director at Large for AgSafe.
In 2026, Kirti was named a Women of Influence in the Food Industry by The Shelby Report, recognizing her leadership, innovation, and impact across the food and agricultural industries. Her previous honors include a nomination for the Orange County Business Journal’s Women of the Year Awards and the Reinvention Award from the Association for Corporate Growth in Orange County.
Kirti is also the creator and host of This Is Ag!, UnitedAg’s leadership-focused podcast featuring the stories and perspectives of influential leaders shaping agriculture. Through the podcast and her work at UnitedAg, she continues to champion leadership grounded in collaboration, innovation, and a deep understanding of the people and communities that sustain agriculture.
