Flu Prevention Awareness

Why Prevention Matters
- The 2024–2025 flu season was extraordinarily severe, the worst since 2017–18—with the highest hospitalization rate in over a decade and 246 pediatric deaths through June 2025 CDC.
- CDC estimates approximately 148 million vaccine doses were produced for that season.
- Declining vaccination trends, especially among children and pregnant people, have worsened vaccine-preventable disease outcomes
Protect Your Health, Team, and Your Productivity

This builds trust, morale, and loyalty.
1. Reduces Absenteeism
The flu leads to major workplace disruptions, with the CDC estimating up to 111 million lost workdays annually and over $16 billion in lost productivity. Vaccination helps reduce the risk of illness, and even when vaccinated individuals do get sick, they tend to experience milder symptoms and recover more quickly. Fewer sick employees means fewer disruptions—especially in roles requiring physical presence or specialized skills, such as fieldwork, customer service, or healthcare.
2. Prevents Workplace Outbreaks
The flu spreads easily in close-contact environments like offices, break rooms, and production floors, making workplaces ideal for transmission. Vaccination helps reduce overall community spread, and when a large portion of employees are vaccinated, it creates a herd immunity effect that also protects those who can’t receive the vaccine for medical reasons.
3. Demonstrates Employer Commitment to Health
Offering or promoting flu shots demonstrates that your organization values employee health and safety, takes a proactive approach to preventing health-related disruptions, and supports a culture of wellness and shared responsibility.
