VCAA Seminar on - Agriculture Labor Relations Act (ALRA)

VCAA’s President and General Counsel, Rob Roy, a practitioner before the Agricultural Labor Relations Board for over 42 years, will be conducting a special seminar on the Agricultural Labor Relations Act (ALRA). Since the onset of the Gerry Brown administration, the number of ALRB charges filed against agricultural employers has been exponential. The VCAA office has handled over 70 cases since 2012! Although union elections can be conducted under the ALRA, the focus of virtually all of the activity under the ALRA for the last six years, at least in Ventura County, has been unfair labor practice charges. These charges are filed by disgruntled agricultural workers who believe that they have been retaliated or discriminated against because they engaged in some form of protected or concerted activity in the workplace. Please plan on attending this very important legal seminar at the onset of the 2018-2019 harvest season. [Attached is a registration form for you to RSVP.] The deadline for registration is Friday, November 23, 2018.
