General Information

Where does AEF receive its scholarship funds?

Our primary fundraisers for the Foundation are our Annual Golf Tournament, walk-a-thon, silent auction held during UnitedAg’s Annual Conference each year and Chancellor’s Circle. Chancellor’s circle is a distinguished group of companies or individuals that support AEF’s programs.

Can scholarship funds be used for anything other than tuition?

The scholarship checks have been issued to the school you will be attending therefore the checks cannot be cashed for personal use. Visit your school’s financial aid office to deposit your check in your student account. The monies can be used for: tuition, book/supplies, labs, dorm room living expenses.

When are scholarship winners announced?

Scholarship Recipient Winners are typically announced by Mid-Spring in April.


Scholarship Eligibility

Who is Eligible to apply for AEF’s Scholarship program?

Applicants must be affiliated with a UnitedAg member company either as self, spouse, child or grandchild of the employee.

Do I have to be a health plan participant in order for my spouse or child to qualify for the scholarship program?

No, the applicant just has to be a member affiliated with UnitedAg to apply for the scholarship program.

Can a niece or nephew of a member apply for a scholarship?

No. Applicant must be affiliated with a UnitedAg member company either as self, spouse, child or grandchild of the employee.

Is the scholarship program only eligible to students whose major is in the Agricultural industry?

No, it does not matter what field of study the student is majoring in.

Will my application be eligible if I don’t submit all the required documents?

No. All documents must be submitted in order for the application to be considered eligible.

Is an unofficial GPA transcript eligible?

Yes, an unofficial GPA transcript is eligible.

When is the 2019 Scholarship Application Deadline?

The 2019 Scholarship application deadline is December 31, 2018.

Is there a word limit for the scholarship application essay?

No, there is no word limit for the Scholarship Essay, it is only required for the essay to be two pages long double space.

When applying for the scholarship program, is it necessary to submit new letters of recommendation each year or can you reuse the letters from a previous year?

No, we require (3) new letters to be submitted every year.

Can my school mail the GPA transcript directly to UnitedAg / AEF?

Can the author of the Letter of Recommendation mail the letters directly to UnitedAg?

No, we require three (3) new letters to be submitted every year.
